Malu? Dikit. Nervous? Banget! Yg penting dapet pengalaman :D
Pengalaman gw ikut Speech Contest sih udh dua kali ikut tapi gada yg menang satupun. Sian yak-___-
Lomba pertama di Perpustakaan Nasional Jakarta acaranya Erlangga. Tau kan Erlangga? Penerbit buku itu loooh. Mangkanya baca buku! Lah jadi nyolot. Haha peace love and gaol.. Waktu lomba ini gw masih kelas X. Oenyoeeh~ ngga ada yg spesial sih di lomba yg ini. Cuma pidato doang ngga ditanya-tanya. Cemen.. (sok banget dah gua. Sebelum maju mah udh kayak pen mati)
Lomba kedua baru deh di UNISMA '45 Bekasi. Menurut gw, pidato yg ini lebih spesial dari sebelumnya. Soalnya pas lagi pidato gw sambil bawa nasi goreng spesial *PLAK!*. Fokus Ra fokus. Pidato yg ini lebih spesial dari sebelumnya karna gw bawainnya pake nyanyi :D
Pas lagi nyanyi, udah aja semua mata langsung tertuju ke gw-___-
Selesai pidato, jurinya bilang "I feels like the Judges of Indonesian Idol" wkakakaka pele banget itu juri. Udah tau lomba pidato. Siapa bilang Indonesian Idol? Waaaah jangan-jangan... :/
Dan lagi, ini lomba pidatonya unik. Teks pidatonya dikumpul ke jurinya. Aneh ya? Mangkanya pas gw dibagian yg ngga kebaca, dia nanya pas dibagian situ. Udah aja gw stuck-___-
Selain ikut lomba, kadang juga suka pidato di lapangan sekolah pas upacara pagi. Kebayang deh tuh eksisnya gw kayak apa. Ngga setiap senin juga sih tapinya. Nanti ganti gantian siapa yg perform. Kalau ngga dipaksa sama my beloved english Teacher Mrs. Iis Istania, gw ga akan mau ikut lomba lomba beginian haha. Bener-bener dikerasin banget sama beliau. Pokoknya itu teks harus hafal diluar otak. Beeeuuuuuuhhh.. Stressed out gw!
Berikut adalah contoh teks pidato dalam bahasa Inggris. Ini teks waktu lomba di UNISMA '45. Temanya itu "Why do we need to learn English?" atau yg biasa kita denger "Mengapa kita butuh belajar bahasa Inggris?" Teks yg di Perpusnas mah udah gatau kemana. Enjoy fellas :)

With all due respect to the honourable all the juries of this speech contest, all audience here attending, and also all my friends. Good......................................
First of all, let us thanks to Allah SWT. Because of his blessings, we all can gather here on this event. Shalawat and prayer we will say to our greatest prophet Muhammad SAW, his family, his firends, and all of his followers. Amien.
Let me introduce myself. My name is Tiara Fidinia, I'm a second grade of Computer Technics and Networks. I come from 3 Vocational High School Bekasi.

Ladies and Gentlemen, English is the most important language in International organization such as the United Nations, and the International Olympic Comitee. As well as in many countries such as South Africa, Philippines, Canada, Singapore, and many more. English is the language that should be mastered by everyone and also for those who would applying for work. Large enterprise companies, require a certain TOEFL score who will participate in the selection. And for those who are already work and want to get a promotion, then there is a certain requirements of TOEFL is the reference person worth to get a promotion the following selection.
Some people have a various reasons for not improving their English skills. Maybe that they are too busy, the English language is too difficult, or maybe they do not need this foreign language skills. If you can speak English, you can talk more than 1.5 billion people around the world! One in four people can speak English. When you are mastering the English language, you can chat online, write a letter, and go around the world using a single foreign language
Ladies and Gentlemen, I have five benefits if you mastered this language skills.
The first, "Competent in official bussines". Most International bussines is conducted in English. If you want a managerial positions in multinational companies, most likely, you will be required to speak English. A number of prestigious companies, their set a minimum IELTS or TOEFL score for potential job applicants. World of technology, flight, tourism, and diplomatic, is depend closely to English language. You can be an English translator, a tour guide, and many more.
The honourable audience, English is the official International language. Or at least, have a special position in 75 countries. And it used over in 100 countries in the world. English is the international language for business, sports, academics, sciences, technologies, and diplomatics.
Secondly, "Knowing more knowledge in the world". Many foreign language books are translated only into English. If you can read English, you will have option of reading a much more diverse. As same as with film. Now, the role as the greater English translater as well.
The third, "searching information from internet". You might think that many sites are translated into Indonesian. But the fact is, 80% of electronic information is only available in English. Meanwhile, the other 20% is not all dominated by Indonesian language but non-English languages like Chinese, Japanese, French, and many more. So imagine just how many percent of all information presented on the internet in Indonesian language. You do not need an English dicyionary if you have English skills.
The fourth is, "being a scientist". The researchers and scientist around the world, communicate with each other in English. Scientific conference is held in English. And the researchers results are also published in English. More than two in three of scientist, is read in English.
And the last my benefit opinion is, "exchange the abroad student". There are a thousand of programs, works, and volunteers around the world. But almost exclusively only offered to those who can speak English.
Now Ladies and Gentlemen here attending, how important learning English is? Are you interested in learning more about the English language? A world full of opportunity opened when you speak English. And also when you competent in English , so you can seek for working at abroad.

Yaaah, segitulah panjangnya pidato gw waktu di Unisma. Waktu ngafalinnya cuma 2 hari haha *fyuh*. Itu juga ngga hafal semua kebanyakan pake improv haha.
Menurut gw, juri ngga menilai isi dari pidatonya. Tapi mereka nilai gimana cara pembawaannya, cara ngomongnya, improvnya gitu. Jadi jangan terpaku sama teks. Ingetin aja poin poin pentingnya di setiap paragraf terus susun sendiri kata-katanya. Tekanan dan nada bicara itu sangat dibutuhkan. Soalnya kalau bacanya datar dan tanpa tekanan yg ada penonton ngantuk dengernya. Tempatkan nada dan tekanan bicara pada tempatnya. Semoga bermanfaat ya guys ;)
